Hello all, this is a reminder that more details of the upcoming Fletcher reunion in Carson City, Nevada are available at: http://ussfletcher.org/2006.html

Reservations at the resort are now being taken, be sure to mention you are with the USS Fletcher Reunion to get the discounted group rate. The above page also has a link to a printable activity fee form you can use to send in fees for the two tours and the banquet, they must be in by mid-August. The tours are optional as is the banquet but trust me, if you're there you'll at least want to do the banquet on the last evening. Carson City is a fun location and I hope to meet many of you there.

There's only one month left to make your reservations at the group rate for the Carson City reunion. We 445 sailors are hoping many 992 sailors will be in attendance. Most of us 445 guys are starting to get on in years, I'm one of the youngest in the group, and eventually it is our hope to turn over the management reins to some of you.

The reunion page has undergone several updates recently with details about the itinerary and the various fees for the two optional tours and the Wednesday night banquet. Those fees need to be taken care of by August 15th if possible. Information is on the page.

Carson City is a fun place, I was out there several years ago and look forward to returning. I'm arriving at the casino a day early (as long as my trusty old Ford doesn't break down in BFE somewhere) so I can recuperate from the long drive before the festivities begin. Even if you can only attend for one night, I think it will be worth it. With the main tours being Monday evening and all day Tuesday the best night for a single night stay would probably be Sunday or Tuesday night.

If anyone has any questions that the web site doesn't answer, please let me know and I'll do my best to get answers for you.

NOTE: It wouldn't hurt to use this website's Private Message feature to remind anyone you hope to see at the reunion about it. Many shipmates don't check the site frequently.

Wow Ken, that banner certainly surprised me when I logged on a while ago. Great job!

Yes, we want the DD-992 crowd to start getting involved and keep the reunion group alive a few more decades. Most of our WWII vets are gone or too ill to make the reunions now. A handful however still come and it's entertaining to listen to them tell of their experiences. Two of them live in California and have said they are planning on being there. Other veterans from Korea, the Cold War and Vietnam eras have their own stories to tell. It's great fun each year to stay up late in the hospitality or history room and down a few drinks and swap sea stories. And we're ready for some new ones from the 992 crew!

My wife and I are really looking forward to this year's reunion and hope to see some of you guys and gals there.

Hi Earl - I'd like to echo your remarks. I had a great time at the de-commisioning. My wife & I are making our plans to be in Carson City too. Hope to see all the old 445 & 992 crew plus many new faces.

The count down is on.........DON'T miss it...............

With the Reunion coming up soon I was wondering who is planning on attending? I am making plans on going. The airfare doesn't look too bad (it would be a 1700 mile drive).

If all goes well Bonnie & I will be there. Hope to see many shipmates there. We will mostlikely be driving. It's about 750 miles for me. Not too bad of a drive for us.

Things may be changing for the better, I hope to be there for at least of couple of days. More on this as time progresses. I have to settle a debt to a close friend first. Hope to see you all there.

Well after looking into it further I see it will cost me about $1200. I think I will have to pass unfortunately.
